September 10, 2014 — Representative Tom Marino (R-PA-10), current candidate for re-election in Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District issued the following statement regarding the continuous and burdensome government encroachment on Pennsylvania’s farmers:

“The people of the 10th District sent me to Congress to work for the vital components of their communities and livelihoods. Yet it seems that Democrat brinksmanship seeks to affront those hard-working folks at every turn, particularly in the agricultural sector. They even lay claim to environmental stewardship. But the farmers in my district are excellent stewards of their lands and oppose bureaucratic actions that hurt their businesses.

Just this week we saw yet another attempt to bypass our republican form of government in order to impose strict regulations on farmers’ use of water without the consent of Congress and thereby the people we represent.

We are a nation that believes in the rule of law. Our communities understand that regulation on our nation’s farmers impacts nearly every aspect of our daily lives. That is why I oppose the EPA’s militant tactics to rewrite law without the consent of Congress.

It is clear that support for the President and his party results in this kind of erosion to our government. It drowns the voices of the people. I will not allow that to happen. I stand with farmers and will continue to work hard on their behalf to keep regulations minimal and food prices low.”
