Marino Secures Three Majors Endorsements for Re-election

October 31, 2014 - Representative Tom Marino (R-PA-10), Lycoming County resident and current candidate for re-election in Pennsylvania’s 10thCongressional District secured three major endorsements for his reelection. A few days before Election Day the National Federation of Independent Businesses’ (NFIB), the Humane Society, and the National Vietnam & Gulf War Veterans Coalition all endorsed Tom Marino for re-election.

Ryan Barton, Campaign Manager for Marino, issued the following statement regarding these endorsements:

“The diversity and broad membership of these organizations further demonstrates just how effective Tom is in Washington and here at home in the 10th District. And the support doesn’t stop with these three organizations; the endorsements have been rolling in on a consistent basis. Tom is honored and humbled that so many organizations and people see his accomplishments and want his good work to continue.

“Independent businesses, veterans and animal welfare are all issues voters care about. There’s important work that Tom has accomplished in these areas and our constituents know his toughness on these issues have made a positive impact.

“Tom talks about the importance of private businesses driving our local economies all the time. He has never forgotten about our veterans and has helped open a new veterans clinic in Wayne County, as well as sponsored several pieces of legislation to enhance veterans services at a national level. And he’s been an advocate for animal welfare all his life and passed strict animal-fighting legislation designed to protect animals and children from the horrors of animal fighting. Toughness and leadership on these issues, and several more, is what has earned these endorsements for Tom.”

The Chairman of the National Vietnam & Gulf War Veterans Coalition John Molloy said of Marino’s endorsement, “Your leadership and patriotism are especially needed in the House of Representatives at this particular time in our history when our beloved country is at risk, not only from foreign terrorists, but also from domestic advocates of extreme social and economic ‘reform’ and the weaklings who failed to confront them. Accordingly, the Board of the National Vietnam and Gulf War Veterans Coalition was polled and has unanimously approved the endorsement of your candidacy.”

The Humane Society Legislative Fund said the following about their endorsement of Marino, “Tom Marino led the fight to strengthen our nation’s laws against cruel and barbaric animal fighting, and to punish the cast of characters whose admission fees and gambling wagers allow these sick spectacles to thrive,” said Michael Markarian, president of HSLF. “He is standing up for the values of kindness and compassion, and cracking down on cruelty and crime in our communities.”

Lisa Goeas, NFIB’s Vice President, Political, said in her endorsement letter, “Your election letter is not only critical to the small-business owners in your district, but also to protecting free enterprise across America. On behalf of all NFIB members, we look forward to standing with you as you continue to stand with small business.”
