October 20, 2014 — Representative Tom Marino (R-PA-10), Lycoming County and current candidate for reelection in Pennsylvania’s 10thCongressional District was awarded the ‘Friend of Farm Bureau’ award for the second time since being elected.

Congressman Marino issued the following statement after winning the award:

“Serving the people of Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District has been among the greatest and most sacred honors of my life. The affinity and admiration I have for the farmers in my district is something words will never fully convey, but they know I champion them and work to protect them.

I have said it before and I will say it again; the agricultural sector of our nation is as old and great as the Constitution itself. These men and women are, and will always be, the backbone of our great nation. They feed us and sustain us. They drive our economy and serve as a model to the rest of the world. Their work is the beautiful mixture of respect for tradition and embrace of innovation.

Much like the Jeffersonian vision of our agrarian future, organizations like the American Farm Bureau Federation remind us of the importance which farms play in the continued success of America. I am so thankful for their support and will always champion their sacrifices, hard work and support for every American.”
