September 17, 2014 — Representative Tom Marino (R-PA-10), Lycoming County and current candidate for reelection in Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District issued the following statement regarding an endorsement for reelection from the Action Committee forRural Electrification (ACRE):

“I am honored to have this endorsement, especially from such an instrumental organization. I know their endorsement for my candidacy for reelection furthers the sentiment of what so many of the 10th District’s citizens understand: that there is still much work to be done on behalf of rural communities. Most of my district is rural. Washington too often focuses on city-centers and urban areas. What they fail to recognize, however, is that rural electric cooperatives like the Tri-County, Claverack, and Sullivan County Electric Cooperatives that serve many communities in PA-10 and enhance everything from educational opportunities to business operations.

While rural communities across my district, Pennsylvania and the nation proudly serve as a backbone to their communities, it is increasingly important to understand rural electrification is a key component to continuing their successes. The rural way of life keeps America running and I am proud to represent and champion those kinds of citizens in Congress.”
