Congressman Tom Marino released the following statement after the passage of a bill funding the President’s Executive Amnesty:
I am proud to announce I voted against today’s efforts in the House to temporarily fund the President’s Executive Amnesty. We have already punted once on this issue, and it is time to take a stand for our Constitution and for the rule of law.
If the President tries to usurp power, it is the House’s duty to reasonably use our power of the purse to fight back. We passed a bill fully funding the Department of Homeland Security, and Senate Democrats blocked it because reverses the President’s unilateral amnesty.
These Senate Democrats are irresponsible, and the onus should be on them to pass a bill. The House did our jobs, and the bill I voted against today was unnecessary.
